Campo de Piedra Pómez

In Antofagasta de la Sierra there’s a landscape from another world, in which since millions of years these geological formations from volcanic origin have been shaped. After the erupting volcanoes came the turn of one of the greatest artists of the Puna: the wind, that has been sculpting these strange formations for years.

When night comes in the Puna the landscape completely transforms. What seemed incredible turns into something out of a science fiction movie and the simplest thing becomes something wonderful. It’s hard to believe a series of events created something so fascinating like this place. Campo de Piedra Pómez is without a doubt on of the greatest gifts Mother Nature has given us.
